"When you realize that a beautiful interior has very little to do with objects and a whole lot to do with spirit, general well being and upliftment you find the soul of interior design. If you have respect for your surroundings and everything has it's perfect place you interact with your world differently you carry yourself differently. My father used to say that the state of your surroundings is the state of your mind. Look around your home, let your home be the foundation of your aspiration."

Redecorating my living room

I am in the middle of working on my own living room and wanted to share the now empty space.  I finally convinced my husband that it's time to start over in that room.  We have had the sofa since before we got married and it was time to say goodbye.  I don't know about you but my husband is under the impression that once you have bought furniture for a room there is no reason to ever replace it!  Does he know who he's married to??  So far I have two vintage chairs that I'm reupholstering in the Dwell gate fabric and I am trying to secure an amazing crome and brass bar cart on ebay.  I also have my eye on a sofa that I need to check out in person.  What do you think so far?  My vision for the room is an eclectic mix of pieces that all work together.  It's a tall order but I can see it coming together in my mind.  Let's hope that the reality is just as good!

  1. Wow- your home is stunning. Those wood floors and fireplace are beautiful! I love the fabric you chose for the chairs! Dwell Studio is such a great source. And the sofa is amazing. This space will look beautiful- can't wait to see it all come together. :)

  2. I know exactly what you mean about men and furniture... it's only because we're in a smaller house and our sofa is too large that my Fella agrees that it needs to be replaced! Of course I'm not allowed to purchase said new sofa until the renovations in the house are done. He's ever so practical!! Geesh!

Love where you're going with your plans so far. The fabric is fab and I love the lines of the sofa!! I can totally see the bar cart in the space too :-)

  6. Yes, men and furniture. I am repainting the living room and sprucing up the furniture and he asks "why"? Who does he think he is married to?

Love where you are heading Andrea, looks a bit "Mad Men-ish"!
