"When you realize that a beautiful interior has very little to do with objects and a whole lot to do with spirit, general well being and upliftment you find the soul of interior design. If you have respect for your surroundings and everything has it's perfect place you interact with your world differently you carry yourself differently. My father used to say that the state of your surroundings is the state of your mind. Look around your home, let your home be the foundation of your aspiration."

Projects around the house

It feels like forever since I last posted!  This time of year is so hectic with year end activities, field trips, sports day etc....  (as all of you mom's know)  I have also been preoccupied with my own house adding some much needed new furniture to my living room and bedroom.  It all takes time but I thought I would share what's been happening.  I have been on the lookout for a new dresser and chest of drawers for our master bedroom and knowing that I am also working on our living room I had to get creative with the budget.  My plan was to find a vintage dresser and chest of drawers and have them sprayed white.  The first place I looked was craig's list which for the most part has been hit and miss with mostly misses.  So when I came across a gorgeous chest of drawers that I have seen in many decor magazines I knew it was my lucky day.  It is absolutely perfect and I couldn't be more thrilled with such a great find.  It doesn't hurt that it's already a lacquer white and in perfect condition.  I also found a dresser that may work, it is too hard to tell in the photo so I need to go take a look at it.  I'll let you know if it comes home with me.

My new gorgeous chest of drawers

Art deco dresser with possibilities?? I'm picturing it white with large ring pulls for the drawers.

  2. I never have any luck with CL but you are clearly a winner. That dresser is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s! You lucky, lucky girl. I think the other dresser has massive possibilities as well.

I have been seeking a new bureau and bureau for our bed room and knowing that I am also working on our living room area I had to get innovative with the budget.
