"When you realize that a beautiful interior has very little to do with objects and a whole lot to do with spirit, general well being and upliftment you find the soul of interior design. If you have respect for your surroundings and everything has it's perfect place you interact with your world differently you carry yourself differently. My father used to say that the state of your surroundings is the state of your mind. Look around your home, let your home be the foundation of your aspiration."

Back painted bookshelves

I don't know about you but I just love the look of back painted shelves.  It really brings them to life and adds a great pop of colour.  If you don't want to commit to painting your walls a bold colour this is a great place to do it.

(I know this bookcase isn't back painted but I came across it and couldn't help but include it.  It's one of my all time favourites!)

  4. I agree, back painted bookshelves really bring a pop of colour to a room! I want to do the same to our wall of Billy bookcases in our newly carved out games room.

  5. I do love this look, and in the right room wallpaper on the backs of bookshelves can look good too. I would love to do something like this with my boring ikea bookshelves!

  6. Oh, beautiful inspiration! I like the darker painted ones, it makes the items stand out more - don't they?
