Sarah's House Living room
Okay, Sarah has redeemed herself. Loving the living room! Love the orange walls with grass cloth and all the hits of color throughout the room. It looks cozy but sophisticated at the same time and her signature mix of color and fabric looks fab.

Adorable illustrations
I came across some sweet illustrations while perusing Etsy this weekend. One in particular caught my eye because it looked exactly like my daughter. They are so innocent and sweet and would look great in any little girls room. You can check out her website at http://www.belleandboo.com/.

Sarah's House Dining room
Hmmm..... not sure on this one. There were certain elements I liked about this room but not what I expected from Sarah. I wasn't a big fan of the fabric wallpaper, I don't mind fabric on the walls just not the one she picked. The print seemed a little old fashioned to me and I didn't love the colors. I really liked the chandelier and how she dressed the table. I also thought the bench seat and draperies were great. How do you feel about it?

Lacquer love
Every time I am shopping for myself or a client and I come across lacquer boxes I always stop and admire. I don't know what it is, is it the smooth finish, the delicious colors or the great organization that would occur if I purchased these lovely little boxes?

Light up your space
Lighting plays a huge roll when decorating a space. It takes it from nothing special to fabulous! I find that most of the time people will pick a fixture that is either too small for the room or a fixture that looks like an afterthought. You spend so much time putting together everything else and the lighting should be no exception.
I like to go by a few generalrules guidelines ( I have a problem with rules):
1. When hanging a fixture above a dining table the bottom of the fixture should be around 30" from the table.
2. When hanging pendants in a hall/entryway or a place where someone will be walking under it, the bottom should be no less than 7' from the floor.
3. A pendant above a kitchen island or peninsula the bottom should be approximately 6' from the floor.
4. Using two smaller chandeliers for a long dining room table always looks great.
5. For an average size dining table the chandelier should be around 12" narrower than the width of the table.
Although keeping all that in mind rules are meant to be broken and I love to play with scale and push the envelope to make a space feel truly unique.

What a find!
I was at Walmart today picking up Easter goodies for the kids and came across some great beach towels! You may know how much I love quatrefoil so of course I had to pick one up and they were only $20.00!
