"When you realize that a beautiful interior has very little to do with objects and a whole lot to do with spirit, general well being and upliftment you find the soul of interior design. If you have respect for your surroundings and everything has it's perfect place you interact with your world differently you carry yourself differently. My father used to say that the state of your surroundings is the state of your mind. Look around your home, let your home be the foundation of your aspiration."

Sarah is back

Did anyone catch the first episode of this seasons Sarah's House?  This season she is busy adding her own touches, with Tommy's help, to a builders basic home in the suburbs.  It's a great way to show people how they can add custom touches to a home that looks like everyone else's on the block.  Whether it's changing the lighting or taking a wall out Sarah shows you how you can use your upgrade budget wisely to create a custom look.  Can you spot the sneak peek of the kitchen?  Looking forward to that episode!

Too busy shopping

I admit I may have a problem.  While spending time catching up on other blogs, Facebook and now throwing Pinterest into the mix, not only are they great ways to connect with people but I also find that I am doing a lot more shopping!  When you combine all these avenues it's a deadly mix that creates some serious damage to the credit card.

The damage:

Pink boat neck sweater from Zara, first seen on Blair's blog Atlantic-Pacific.  Her fabulous blog is to blame for this purchase.

Print by Tastes orangey for my living room.  I was introduced to this artist through Ceri at Cooper Grey.  I'm putting together a gallery wall and this is a great addition.

Bfrend bracelets by the lovely Monika Hibbs.  First spotted on Made by Girl.  I am always finding things through Jen that are on my have to have list.  Damn her for having such great taste.

Orange lacquer tray from West Elm for my cool bar cart.  Just because I needed another splash of orange in my newly decorated living room.

Gold Chanelesque blazer from Zara all because of the new online shopping option.

Modern entryway

I have been busy working on an entryway for a client.  Her wish list included something modern with natural materials and minimal colour.  I found some great pieces that will give her the look she's going for.  The bench will be in a buttery coloured leather not the white shown in my mood board and we will use the black frames to do a gallery wall of family photos for above the bench.  I can't wait to see it all pulled together!  I am always just as excited as the client to see a room through to completion.  I will post before and after pics once it's finished.  What do you think?
